Mansfield Arts Walk

173 High Street Mansfield Victoria

Meander through the streets of Mansfield and discover the works of art placed in various locations.

From the Pole People in the High Street median strip, to the High Country ceramic murals and the Youth Arts projects in Erril Street, Mansfield will surprise with its eclectic collection of local pieces.

The Spirit of the Skier welcomes you at the western end of town, and the gates to the Botanic Park and the sculptures within provide a unique entry to the east.

Pick up a map and follow the QR code from the Mansfield Visitor Information Centre located in the “Station Precinct” - an important cultural and historical hub and home to the unique interpretive pole display - an extraordinary exhibition of tree trunks depicting the history of the region from the first ski run on Mt Buller to the legendary story of the infamous Kelly Gang and the brave men who hunted them down.

The centre is also home to the Aboriginal Art Gallery and the 14 metre Felt Mural which was created in 1985 as part of Victoria's 150 years' celebration. Funded by Arts Victoria, it was one of the highlights of our “Woman's Field” project, designed to celebrate the history of women in Mansfield. The artist, Jean Atkins, employed as the artist in residence worked with some 100 plus members of the community.
