Saturday November 16th, 2019 was a big day for mountain biking in the High Country, with the official opening of a host of new trails in Dinner Plain. The new trail network now features more than 40km of mountain bike specific and shared use trails meaning that there is more than enough riding for anyone to add Dinner Plain into their Ride High Country itinerary. And with summer now well and truly here, they’re ready for you to shred all season long…in DP’s cooler rarefied air!
The DP MTB opening had something for everyone! In addition to a host of new trails, there were guided rides, a ‘funduro’ timed run competition, bike demos (even e-bikes), live music, BBQ and of course some great beer from the team at Blizzard Brewery. But it was the new trails that truly were the heroes of the day! ‘Shut Up Ollie’, ‘Sir Jax Pump a Lot’ and ‘Jabber-Wookie’ were firm crowd favourites.
