Merton Station 

The stockyards, platform, goods shed and gatekeeper’s cottage were constructed between Oct 1890 and April 1891. The last passenger train ran on 28 May 1977 and last goods train in February 1978

Between Kanumbra and Merton is the Merton Gap; the highest point on the line at 397 metres.

Merton is a small town and provides a good chance to stretch your legs. Wander through the area that is managed by Merton Landcare or continue along the trail to the historic Merton Cemetery.
