The main portion of the loop runs from Rotary Park to Apex Park and follows the Ovens River closely as it passes through native bush and crosses the river twice. The Ovens River Trail is sometimes referred to as Myrtleford's Mosaic Trail, one of town's star attractions.
Two friends, affectionately known as 'The two Crackpots' started the first guerrilla mosaic installation in January 2019. The trail is now a treasure trove of hidden art, some easy to see, others you have to look a little harder. This ever changing landscape is worth visiting over and over again as new mosaics appear. The art installations have added a new level to this beautiful walk without taking away from its natural beauty.
Fun for all ages and abilities, a map and children's activity pack are available from the Myrtleford Visitors Information Centre.
