Ride Marysville

FERN-FILLED FLOW & THRILLS

Chase more than waterfalls in lush Marysville. MTB parks, destination trails, road climbs and gravel calls.

This pretty town located just 1.5 hours from Melbourne at the base of Lake Mountain is passionate about all things bikes. From village cycling sculptures to huge descent MTB trails, gravel weaving through sky reaching trees and a 7 Peaks Challenge road climb, 'The Ville' brings the riding stoke.

Lake Mountain MTB Park

Lake Mountain Bike Park transforms into a green season MTB zone in summer with singletrack galore, bike shuttle, bike hire and a cafe. Take on beginner-friendly green trails, technical cross-country routes and the accessible, adaptive-bike friendly Kestrel Trail.

Don't miss the star attraction - the 28km Cascades trail descending 1550m all the way to Marysville. On the darker side of blue, this trail serves up a serious challenge with four types of dirt, steep berms and natural and built features.

Buxton MTB Park

Ride Buxton MTB Park's flowing 23km of singletrack weaving through the fern-filled Black Range State Forest.

Featuring gentle climbs and fast, flowing descents, the park’s 9 purpose-built trails are organized into signed loops, making it easy for riders of all abilities to navigate. As a fun, primarily intermediate trail network, this park is great for riders of varying levels to grab ride time together.

HIT THE ROAD

Lake Mountain is the closest 7 Peaks Challenge climb to Melbourne. Pedal past majestic alpine ash as you climb from Marysville to Lake Mountain up 932m over 21km. The first 4km will test your limits reaching gradients of 10% before rewarding you with views across the Cathedral Range.

Take it to the valley on The Triangle loop ride. Pencil this one in for autumn to roll through Gould Memorial Drive's golden poplars.
