With towering Mount Buffalo as a backdrop, Myrtleford is packed with food, wine and adventure.

Nestled in the Ovens Valley, Myrtleford is home to vineyards, great spots to refuel, farm gates laden with local produce and hop farms as far as the eye can see. Gentle bike paths lace the township, perfect for young riders. Challenging road loops and endless gravel goodness await you just outside of town. 

Murray to Mountains Rail Trail 

The Murray to Mountains Rail Trail offers unique and easy to ride sections of sealed, off-road riding taking in beautiful scenery, historic sites, wineries and more.

Use Myrtleford as a base for bite size rides, popping into cellars doors and farm gates along the way. A stunning 24km pedal alongside the Ovens River will lead you to picturesque Porepunkah – an extra 6km push gets you to Bright's impressive dining scene and autumn colours.

HIT THE ROAD 

Tarmac warriors exploring Myrtleford and surrounds will reap the rewards – stunning scenery, fresh alpine air and thrilling smooth descents on quiet roads.

The intermediate Happy Valley Loop , while more climbing than rolling, is one of the most beautiful rides in the area – see what it's all about on the undulating Carrolls Road. 

7 Peaks Challenge Mount Buffalo's 21km climb a region showstopper. With no park entrance fees and tremendous views the whole way up, it's worth the burn.

The Myrtleford Monster 

Endless gravel loops encircle Myrtleford, passing through pine plantations, country vistas and past majestic water sport hot spot Lake Buffalo.

Keen for an all day adventure? The mixed surface Myrtleford Monster is an iconic High Country ride, following the Buffalo River Road over the Black Range to the King Valley, before rolling back to Myrtleford via farm lanes and undulating back roads. Lunch in the King Valley is a must.

Stay in Myrtleford to take advantage of the town's delights including Ovens River swimming spots, evening boulder sessions at Buffalo Boulders , sunsets from the top of Reform Hill and great dining.

TAKE A LOOK AROUND MYRTLEFORD 

Refuel at locals favourite micro-roasters Coffee Chakra . Cafe Fez is a chilled out little gem, serving up traditional Middle-Eastern dishes. A short ride out to Gapsted Estate will see you sipping cool climate wines over a seasonal lunch with a view. Or pedal to on trail Pepo Farms and taste your way through chocolate coated treats.
