The High Country Rail Trail

Stretching over 80km from Wodonga to Shelley and onto Corryong, the High Country Rail Trail hugs the shoreline of the majestic Lake Hume.

Ride the whole trail, or explore it in snackable sections. Pedal from Tallangatta to the bright red 600m Sandy Creek Bridge that spans the sparkling lake. Explore fascinating historic trestle bridges on the Shelley to Tallangatta stretch. Or simply pack your panniers with regional produce and enjoy a lakeside picnic and a refreshing dip.

The Lake Hume and Upper Murray area is replete with quiet country roads leading to stunning views. Road cyclists are truly spoilt for choice.

Meander along the shores of Lake Hume and over sweeping bridges on the locals favourite Lake Hume Loop. Fancy a break? Take a short detour to Websters Estate , a boutique, mother-daughter run winery. Base yourself in Corryong to cycle along the mighty Murray and through historic towns.
